Young Women Called to Ministry

At Wisdom for Women in Waiting, we mentor young women who know they are called by God but have been told that without formal seminary training or ordination, they have no place in ministry. The call of God is not contingent upon a degree, a title, or human validation. Your calling is a God-given gift that helps to define your purpose. Your calling is a heavenly gift that is empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Rev. Diane Covington, a minister, pastor, preacher, and teacher, understands the struggles of breaking barriers and stepping into a calling when others question or resist what God has chosen for you to do. Through this ministry, we help young women embrace and walk boldly in their God-given purpose by offering:

  • Biblical Affirmation of Calling – Throughout Scripture, God called and used women before there were seminaries, degrees, or official church structures. From Deborah to Priscilla to Mary Magdalene, God’s anointing was not dependent on human credentials. We help young women find confidence in God’s calling rather than human approval.
  • Mentorship & Guidance – Rev. Covington provides wisdom, coaching, and spiritual direction, helping young women navigate the challenges of stepping into ministry without formal ordination or seminary training.
  • Training & Equipping – While education is valuable, it is not the sole qualifier for ministry. We provide biblical teaching, leadership principles, and practical tools to equip young women for the work God has called them to do.
  • Encouragement to Walk in Faith – Many women delay or abandon their calling because they are waiting for permission. Wisdom for Women in Waiting reminds young women that God’s call is the permission they need. God will open doors which will lead to ministerial development and make room for their gifts in God's perfect time.
  • Opportunities to Serve & Grow – Ministry is not just behind a pulpit. We help young women see that their calling is to fulfill God's purpose for their lives in many ways—teaching, mentoring, writing, evangelizing, leading small groups, serving their communities, and using their unique gifts for God’s glory.
  • Breaking Barriers with Boldness – We equip young women to navigate opposition with grace, wisdom, and confidence, helping them remain steadfast in their calling, identity, and divine assignment.

God’s calling is greater than anyone can understand, even you. Look to God for affirmation. God is the only God who can answer "yes" when you finally yield to God's calling. If God has called you, God will equip and qualify you. If God has anointed you, God will appoint you to the work assigned for God's purpose(s) for your life.

At Wisdom for Women in Waiting, we will always be available to remind you that your waiting is preparation, not denial. God is shaping you for something greater. Your voice, your ministry, and your obedience matter—with or without seminary or ordination.

Answer the call. Walk in faith. Let God lead the way.
